HAR-TRU Manufacturing Facility Rebuilt to Accommodate Growing Demand. Many would guess that rumors of a 5-week shutdown to our Har-Tru production facilities would bring panic to our associates, builders, and customers, but as word spread through the company and the industry that this past September 21st would be the first day of the much anticipated month-long manufacturing facility reconstruction project, the panic quickly turned to excitement.

Nearly 30 years ago, Bob Lee introduced his first maintenance roller, the Proline, to the tennis community. Since then, thousands of 4’ and 5’ Proline rollers have been sold to maintain Har-Tru Clay Courts across the United States and throughout the world. But even with this unmatched resume of continuous service, our design team was not satisfied. So in the fall of 2004, Rey Leyco, Lee Tennis’ Design and EngineeringManager, enlisted the help of machine shop technician, SteveLawhorne and others from our manufacturing team at our Troy, VA factory to set out to reinvent a classic.
